Father Joe Pereira has been a direct student of B.K.S. Iyengar since 1968. He has taught yoga for twenty years and today is a renowned  Sr. Iyengar yoga teacher. As an Indian Jesuit Priest he worked very  closely with Mother Teresa. Inspired by both Mother Teresa and B.K.S. Iyengar, Father Joe combined these two passions and developed the Kripa Foundation Iyengar Yoga, a recovery program for the  chemically dependent. Today there are more than 30 treatment   facilities across India.  The Government of India has recognized Father Joe’s distinguished  contributions and service in his field by awarding him the Padma Shri award (in Sanskrit means "Lotus") . Father Joe’s workshops are based on the Iyengar yoga traditions of meditation, pranayama and alignment. He uses asana sequences with the integration of the twelve step program to bring awareness and light to his students. Pre-registration is Required $ 75 deposit will hold your space Ingelsie Nherlan has  dedicated herself to the practice of Iyengar Yoga since 1970 and was one of the founding members of the BKSIyengar Association of Vancouver.  She has studied many times at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute in Pune, India and with many senior level teachers.  She was awarded a Senior Intermediate III certificate from Mr. Iyengar in 1997.  Ingelise's approach is inspiring and integrates the philosophy of yoga with the practical work of asanas and breathing in a way that is easy to understand.  Her teaching style is energetic and thorough, with an emphasis on discovering the hidden energies that lie dormant within the mind and body of all human beings.  Ingelise teaches at the Rom for Yoga Studio in Vancouver. From the teaching prospective: provide a basic understanding of how to teach asana and pranayama at the Level I and II - IYAC course as set out by BKS Iyengar and to achieve a basic understanding of yoga philosophy and anatomy for this level. This is a one-hundred hour committed teacher-training program over the course of ten months, (one weekend/ ten hours per month) Saturdays 10:30-Noon & 1:00pm to 5:00pm, Sundays 9am to 1pm.     * Dates:To be Announced.     *  Criteria: Must have three years of Iyengar yoga practice with a certified Iyengar teacher and be pre approved by Jo-Ann Sutherland.
